Pentahotel Derby – The Grand Opening Party

Pentahotel Derby – The Grand Opening Party

Pentahotels are a relatively new hotel brand, who appear to be popping up everywhere. They position themselves as modern, funky and a little bit different. We love to travel and love staying in hotels, particularly if they’re a little bit different, so I was delighted when hubby and I were invited to attend the Pentahotel Derby Grand Opening Party.

Pentahotels aim to offer a new vibrant concept in the world of hotels, with guest checking in at the bar, free pool tables in the lounge, along with Playstation consoles and free movies in the bedrooms. All at an affordable price.

Simon was keen to come along, so babysitter sorted, we got glammed up and headed out for what we hoped would be a fantastic night! When we arrived I was really impressed with the vibrant and funky atmosphere. The décor was modern and perfect if you’re in the mood to party! It wasn’t too busy so it was a good opportunity to get a feel for how it would be on a usual day before the crowds arrived. And they did! By 8.30pm the place was packed and the atmosphere was fantastic!

There was a cocktail bar – set up especially for the event – was made from ice, the cocktails were flowing and the food was divine. The food consisted of a Mediterranean buffet, with a brilliant selection, along with a fab dessert table featuring lots of sweets, ice cream in a range of flavours and egg custards, which I love!

We met another blogger, Steph from Priceless Life of Mine, who was there with her Daughter and Husband. We had a fab evening enjoying the food and drink and trying to get lots of pictures with the celebs who were in attendance!

I tend to be a bit shy in these scenarios and hate asking for photo’s with celebs, so unfortunately I didn’t manage to get too many of me. Although Simon did stand in the buffet queue with Lee Ryan from Blue, who were headlining  the event, so I managed to get one with him! Simon on the other hand, was more than happy to ask for pics!

Whilst we were eating, the resident Pentahouse band performed a few songs to get the party going, so the atmosphere was brilliant and by the time Blue came on the party really was in full swing.

Unfortunately as it was a work night, we left just after 10.30pm, so we only got to see Blue perform a couple of songs, which was a shame as they were brilliant. We returned home buzzing with excited after a brilliant night – great food, drink, entertainment and company!

Pentahotels sure know how to party in style. Next time Simon and I decide to have a city mini-break, we’ll certainly be checking to see if there’s a Pentahotel we can stop at!
