I have a new job!

Things have been a little quiet on the blog recently. The main reason for this is that I’ve had a few busy weeks going through the recruitment process for a new job, which I’m delighted to say, that I was offered last week!

I’ve not been that happy in my current role for a good few months. I’ve felt uninspired and not that motivated by it. One of the reasons for upping my blogging activity was to try and fill a void that work hasn’t been managing to do. I actually think I started to get itchy feet about a year ago when we returned from our summer holiday. I felt I needed more.

I work in marketing and currently work at a large accountancy firm. The firm is great, it’s just the role I have that hasn’t been doing much for me. Working in marketing I know how important digital marketing is and in my current role I don’t get to do much as our London digital team do the majority. Blogging has helped me to develop these skills and made me realise that I need a job that allows me to develop and put into practice these digital skills.

So, after many months of searching, applying and getting the door closed in my face because I want part time hours and flexibility (how dare I?!), I have secured a Marketing Manager role for a small company who provide leadership and management training, coaching and HR services, and I’m really excited! I will be in charge of all things marketing, which includes the website, email campaigns, advertising, writing blog posts, events and running some exciting campaigns. I’ve met the team and there are all lovely and the two directors I’ll be working with are also fab!

I’m hoping that working for a small firm, I’ll be able to really take ownership of things and make a real impact. I start on 17th August and I can’t wait! I’ll be sad to say goodbye to some of the friends I’ve made through work and changing jobs is always a bit scary, but I’ll looking forward to working on some great projects and the exciting times that lie ahead!

I’ll let you know how it goes – wish me luck…

Good news about your marketing position. Your hard work paid off. It feels wonderful to find a job after months of searching. I know how you feel about getting a job. It took me time to find an online marketing job. A few of my work duties overlap with yours.
